The uniqueness of the Jamaica Estates community is assured by a committed group of residents who have worked diligently and successfully to preserve it as a most desirable community in which to live and raise a family. This is the Jamaica Estates Association (JEA). Founded in 1929, the JEA has actively served our neighborhood as both a unified voice and advocate for all individual member-owners. Join us today!

Welcome
Communication with Our Members:
Through a variety of media, including this website, and our general membership meetings, emails, bulletins, postcards, and our Facebook page, we provide timely information to our members about issues that impact them such as community events, street repairs, sewer construction, tree pruning, crime alerts, meetings with officials, and much more.

Security:
No matter how beautiful a neighborhood nor how effective its schools, people will not be attracted to it unless they feel it is a safe neighborhood. We are located in the 107th precinct. Statistics rate it as one of the safest in the city. Enhancing our security, the JEA has maintained its own private security patrol for several decades. The patrol tours the Jamaica Estates community ona regular basis to detect anything or anyone that appears suspicious and reports this to the local precinct for immediate follow up action. All residents who elect to join thepaid Jamaica Estates Security Patrol are given a contact number with which they can call directly from their homeor cell phone to alert the patrol of anysuspicious persons or activity. The patrol provides a broad array of services to members. For more details and how to join the security patrol, visit our JEA Security Patrol page.
Special Events:
The JEA hosts several meetings each year open to all residents of Jamaica Estates. For over twenty years we have celebrated our diversity and history of inclusion by organizing and celebrating an International Night. We have honored the cultures and religions of the Chinese, Indians, Irish, Puerto Ricans, Albanians, Africans, Bukharians, and Bangladeshies. The residents celebrate, learn, and develop a healthy respect for their fellow neighbors’ rich cultures, foods, and faiths. Also, we learn why they are drawn to Jamaica Estates to live and raise their families. See our Special Events page to learn more!

Beautification of Our Neighborhood:
The JEA continues its strong working relationship and partnership with the Parks Department, ensuring that the Midland Malls and Greenstreets areas are upgraded and well maintained. Each year our volunteers plant annuals and perennials reflecting our commitment to enhance the beauty of Jamaica Estates. To learn more, visit the Gardening Club page.

Responsible Elected Officials:
It is the hallmark of the Jamaica Estates Association to maintain an on-going and open relationship with city, state and federal elected officials representing our community. We meet regularly with these officials and they appear at many mini town hall meetings conducted by the JEA, providing our members with a unique forum for direct face- to- face dialogue. To learn more, visit the Special Events page.
Zoning Enforcement:
The majority of the Jamaica Estates community is zoned R1-2. This is the most restrictive zoning regulation that protects our community of single family housing. We move quickly and effectively when we detect residents or developers seeking to circumvent this designation. To learn more, visit the Zoning Enforcement page.

Join the Jamaica Estates Association:
Our diverse membership and dedicated volunteers on the Board of Directors strive to maintain the quality of life in Jamaica Estates. Join the JEA and become part of this active, vital civic association. To join us visit the Membership Application page!

The Board of Directors of the Jamaica Estates Association is made up of a diverse group of your neighbors who selflessly volunteer their time in service to our community. The JEA Board meets every other month at a director’s home to discuss upcoming events within the community. Once a year, the Board holds a dinner meeting for a working meal. It is a chance for the Board to gather in a more social setting while discussing the matters at hand. The JEA has strong personal ties to local elected officials, Community Board 8, St. John’s University, and the 107th Precinct. As a member, you have access to the JEA Security Patrol, as well as the strength of the Association voice should you have an issue that we can help you with. If you have not yet joined, please visit the Membership Application page!
